Hoping against hope :(

Yesterday while petting SweetPea i noticed a large lump to the side of her jawline. My heart sunk as soon as i felt it....i have felt that kind of lump before . I immediately assumed it was lymphatic.
Today we went off to the vet .First a needle ,all we got was blood,next surgery for a biopsy.....i stayed with her the whole time,it wasnt pretty,as blood vessels supplying the tumor were severed and lots of blood. So we should have the results friday,perhaps monday,but the vet confirmed my suspicions that it most likely a lymphatic cancer,which is very aggressive,and our time may be short.
We are still kinda shellshocked,she has certainly stolen our hearts in just a few months she's been with us. She is estimated between 2 and 3 yrs old. so young
We need all your positive thoughts in the next few days ,we are hoping against hope that its something else

Tammy that's awful, I know you will do your best for Sweetpea, I hope she is not in any pain..

I'm going to be hopeful that it is not cancer. You have had your share (and then some) of heartbreak in the last two years with your furry friends. Please keep us posted on how she is doing and maybe post some pictures of her. I've not seen her since you got her.

we say goodbye to SweetPea this afternoon at 5.30
we finally got the results back today and its as bad as it can be. The prognosis is six weeks at best. We could give her cortisone to shrink the tumor a little and help her breathe and swallow better,but its not going to prolong things by much if we did. So ,we have made the heart wrenching decision to let her go before she suffers a single day of real discomfort

On the other side of it we have happy news too,which i will share with you soon

Tammy I am so sorry. You have had a rough year or so with your furry friends. I hope whatever your good news is that it will ease the pain a little.

SorryIt was a nice thing to let her go, some people have such a hard time they make pets hang on too long...
