I need an opinion

I just read in the paper that my former boss's mom died yesterday. I feel I should send an email or a card. We all know that I did not leave my last job on a good note (to say the least) but we were best friends for four years. I worked the kennel MANY days/nights while she cared for her mom while she was ill. My husband said to "let sleeping dogs lie" and not open a can of worms. He thinks I should just pretend I didn't see it. I haven't spoken to my former boss since two nights after I quit when her dog died and I went to sit with her while she cried even though we were very angry with each other. I do know from clients that she is still talking about me not very pleasantly. What should I do?

I would too... a card, not an email. If the tables were turned, how would you feel if you received a card from her at that time? Would you be angry?

Take the high road and let her know your thoughts are with her. Send a card.
