Monkeys and Fairy bread :)
All right now, whats this Fairy bread stuff? I must know...
Is it just bread, butter and sprinkles? Is it for special occasions, birthdays and the such. Do you use it instead of cake? Is it like a trifle?
Spill the info!!
All you Aussie's speak up!!

Re: Monkeys and Fairy bread :)
yep, thats about it...the link sums it all up...
i prefer my 'fairy bread' made with pikelets actually (really tiny fat pancakes ,sometimes called drop scones)
you can use round sprinkles but i prefer the sort if tube shaped ones.
no self respecting Australian parent would forget the fairy bread at a childs party(child meaning anyone 0-100 hehe).... criminal offense !

I would think if it was "special" it would include some kind of baking. (sorry) Does not sound good to me either. guess it is what you grow up with. Hell, my sons favorite cake for his birthday is chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.

Re: Monkeys and Fairy bread :)
I'm sure if I think about it hard enough I could dredge up some odd food from childhood that was freaky, that I still eat and enjoy. But this Fairy bread is loved by all it seems! I don't think theres a food in the USA that is so across the board popular! Each region has it's own food quirks etc... But not one food that EVERYONE is so crazed for!! Maybe it is the FAIRY'S and not the bread!!

Fritz is what it's called in Tammy's state. In my state it's called Devon. I think that in the US it's called Baloney? How about this. Not long after moving to Aus (was born in Thailand), my sister got an aussie boyfriend. One day she was invited to have a roast dinner at his house, but was concerned about what they were roasting - a chook. My Mom had to ask our neighbours at the time, and all it is is a chicken LOL. So they were just having a roast chicken for dinner
