Cause for immediate termination
What would you consider grounds for immediate termination of a brusher/bather/pt groomer? I will go into the long story later, but I am curious what you would fire over with no warnings or write-ups.

Re: Cause for immediate termination
for example ....
injuring a dog and not fessing up
stealing
leaving a dog unsupervised or unattended as is appropriate for the situation the dog is in
lying
cussing to, or in the presence of, clients
causing a dog to escape due to negligence
i'm sure there are more!

Re: Cause for immediate termination
*start date 1/16 2 days a week hourly) plus commission grooming on other days Plus she works for the daycare I sublease from
*second day, called in sick-dog ate advil at ER all night
*next 2 days worked came in late
*text message not coming in because working at other job.
*1.5 hr late next work day(missed bus)
*leaves early frequently(friend is here, meeting someone, has plans..)
*5 more work days late for 3
*did not show up for grooms. " I did not know" but she did come in and groom them.
*Was told she could not leave til grooms had been picked up but did anyway.
*Called in Mom had heart attack and may have to leave town. Gave day off
*Groom 2 days later. did not show up/call/text. "forgot w/all that is going on..."
*groom following day told to stay because I needed to talk to her. She was there when I got there. I went to the office to print out a formal warning and talked to the girls up front a while(15 min) I went back and she had left a dog under a dryer (medium heat). Did not tell anyone she was leaving, but had sent me a text msg that she had to take care of something. My phone was in the grooming room with her and I was in the building. So I text her to come in before her shift with the daycare so we could talk. She asked "you don't need a bather" to which I replied "no".
Next day when she was to come in before her shift to talk to me. No call/text, but did manage to call the daycare manager and let them know she was running late.
Owner of the daycare wants me to talk to her, but at this point I am wondering why? Yesterday I was prepared to let her off with a stern warning even after she left the dog under a hot dryer unattended, but when she blew me off for lunch with her friend and did not call/text me, I was fit to be tied. She obviously does not want this job.
Uggg. I have not formally warned her, so I am feeling a tad bit bad, like I should at least talk to her. The owner of the daycare is coming in at 3 tomorrow so we can all talk. I just afraid I won't be very nice at this point.

Re: Cause for immediate termination
Pack your stuff and get out, that's all I would say. This person does not warrant any second chance or anymore of your time. I can't believe you put up with as much as you have. Sounds like a major drama queen and even if you talk to her chances are she is just going to cause you more aggravation in the future. Tell her bye bye
Re: Cause for immediate termination
Dog left under hot dryer. That would have done it for me.
Glad I don't have employees, did you get rid of her?
